Dr Venkatesh Thammishetti is heading the Department of Nephrology at Sahara hospital. After scoring a rank of 182 in the medical entrance test, he got into Gandhi Medical College (GMC), one of the premier medical colleges and hospitals in Telangana. After completing his MBBS from GMC, Dr. Venkatesh secured 9th rank in the prestigious Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu) entrance examination. At JIPMER, he completed his post graduation in Internal Medicine in 2016 with a gold medal. He then worked as a senior resident for a year under Prof RP Swaminathan at JIPMER, where he trained junior residents, interns, and medical students. Subsequently, he cleared the Doctorate of Medicine (DM) entrance examination for nephrology in 2nd position at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI), Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh). There he was mentored by stalwarts of Nephrology like Prof RK Sharma, Prof Amit Gupta, and Prof Narayan Prasad. During his residency, he not only learnt how to handle all sorts of nephrology patients but also published a good number of research papers. He completed his training and obtained his DM degree in 2019.

During last 6 years of his career in nephrlogy he has dealt with various kidney disease and has expertise managing all kidney related disorders. He has observed and conducted more than 100 kidney transplants in last 6 years

Dr. Venkatesh’s vision is to establish and provide best possible Nephrology services at an affordable cost to the society and people of Uttar Pradesh.
